Dov Lautman, Honorary President of the Israeli Friends, was recently honored at a special event which took place at the Open University of Israel. Friends, colleagues and family members came to pay tribute to Dov Lautman and congratulate him on the publication of his new biography, "Don't Give Up".
The Open University conferred an Honorary Fellowship upon Dov Lautman for his important contribution to advancing the Israeli economy, as a leading industrialist, and for his dedicated work on behalf of countless organizations promoting quality education and helping the disadvantaged. A member of the Who's Who of Israel's business world, in the past few years, Mr. Lautman has devoted much of his efforts, resources and time to advancing education and ensuring "to give an opportunity to each and every one" in Israel. In describing Dov Lautman, Prof. Hagit Messer-Yaron, President of the Open University referred to him as "great man…and his connection with the Open University " as completely natural." Dov Lautman, who has been suffering from ALS for the past few years, referred to the Open University as "an educational focal point on the highest possible level in the State of Israel." |
