The Workshop will take place at Beit Daniel, in Zichron Ya'akov, Israel.
Book a flight to Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv (TLV). The airport has extensive ground transportation options. The relevant one for Zichron Ya'akov is to take a train from the airport to Binyamina, and from there a short bus ride (or taxi) to Zichron Ya'akov. There are regular trains every 30 minutes (see: train journey planner). Other options are shuttle (shared) taxis, rental cars and taxis. There are several ATMs and bank branches at the airport, open 24 hours a day; make sure to either change or withdraw local currency (New Israeli Shekel, commonly known as shekel, NIS), as local merchants do not accept foreign currency.
Public transportation in Israel practically halts during the weekend, which is defined as Friday early afternoon to Saturday night. This includes trains and inter-city coaches, but not shuttle taxis from and to the airport.
The conference venue is Beit Daniel (see virtual tour in the link). Accomodation is available at Beit Daniel (a very limited number of rooms), as well as in the nearby boutique hotel Beit Maimon. Daily rates are 450 NIS single occupancy and 345 NIS per person double occupancy, on a bed and breakfast basis. Rates include all taxes.
To
benefit from these rates, please send an e-mail at your
earliest convenience, but in any case before May 31, 2015 to lherzigs@staff.haifa.ac.il, indicating your arrival and departure dates and the desired room type.
Citizens of many countries, including most EU countries and the US, do not need a visa for a short visit. Check the list of countries. Citizens of other countries are advised to check with the nearest Israeli consulate.
All visitors must have a return ticket and a passport valid for at least six months.
Zichron Ya'akov enjoys moderate mediterranean weather, but June is considered Summer here. Expect temperatures between 22-30 centigrade (72-86 fahrenheit) and overall hot weather.
