EATEL summer school

 
Students from the Doctoral Program in Education from the Open University participated for the first time to JTELSS 2024, the 18th Summer School of the European Association of Technology- Enhanced Learning (EATEL). This event focuses on technologies that enhance learning. The activities are held in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering at the University of Bologna and the International Association of University Libraries.

This year's summer school took place in Gabicce Mare, Italy, where approximately 100 senior faculty members and doctoral students from various member countries gathered. Among them four of our doctoral students from the "Education: Technologies in Learning Systems" program: Doron Abramov, Nurit Dobzinsky, Yael Tsur, and Esti Schwartz. The program was rich and diverse, featuring lectures by senior researchers in learning technologies, workshops, mentoring sessions, and activities designed to foster networking and potential collaborations with colleagues from across Europe.

We are grateful for this amazing opportunity. We have met doctoral students from many countries, engaged in collaborations, and received valuable advice from our mentors. We were exposed to a variety of research practices that will significantly advance our work. We've had intensive days of learning, along with excursions in the area and a visit to the nearby University of Rimini." the delegation members reported.

The Open University's participation in the conference was made possible through funding by the International Office, in cooperation with the Research Center on Innovation in Learning Technologies. This effort aligns with the Open University's policy to enhance students' international skills, both professionally and through the acquisition of soft skills.
