The Open university Psychobiology lab of Prof. Ravid Doron, located at the The Biotechnology Park (JBP building) in Campus Hadassah Ein-Karem, focuses on development of herbal treatments for anxiety and depression. Herbal treatments have been found to be quick and effective, without side effects that typically accompany the conventional treatments. This has been proven with behavioral models and biological tests with mice to be effective. In addition, research at the lab works to develop a model for the effect of premature birth on behavior and cognitive development. The lab also studies effects of cannabis on memory at different ages and treatments for neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer's Disease.
