Organizer and co-chairperson (together with Professor Andrey Fedorchenko), International conference "Contemporary Israel: Politics, Culture and Society", Moscow, Institute of Israeli and Middle Eastern Studies and Moscow State University, September 8-11, 2000. The first scientific conference in Russia completely dedicated to the study of the Israeli society. The papers were presented by more than 30 leading scholars from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Tel-Aviv University, Columbia University, Moscow State University and Russian Academy of Sciences).

Organizer and co-chairperson (together with Dr. Savely Volfson), 3 sessions on contemporary Israel and Israel-Diaspora relations within the framework of the 13th Annual International Interdisciplinary Conference on Jewish Studies (Moscow, January 31 - February 2, 2006).

As a coordinator for academic cooperation with the Russian universities at the Chais program in Jewish and Israel studies in Russian at the Open University of Israel, Alek D. Epstein pushed forward contacts with various top-ranked Russian universities. Since 2006, the agreements were signed with the Moscow State University for International Relations (MGIMO); Lobachevsky State University of Nizhniy Novgorod; Ural State University (Ekaterinburg); State University of Tomsk; Center of International Studies of Kazan State University, etc. Alek D. Epstein lectured in all of these universities; his articles were published in various journals and collections issued by each of the five abovementioned institutes of higher education.
