I have been affiliated with the Open University since 2002, holding visiting appointments at the University of Kansas (2014-2015) and the University of Cambridge (CRASSH, 2017-2018). Additionally, I served as a visiting associate professor at the Frankel Institute for Advanced Judaic Studies, University of Michigan (2022-2023). In 2008-2013 I was the founding director of NYU Tel Aviv. My extensive publications focus on the intersection of education and citizenship, as well as class and ethnic voting patterns in Israel. I have won several research grants, including a recent award from the Israel Science Foundation to examine young adults' perceptions of citizenship education in Israel. My article on protest and radical democracy in Israel (Israeli Sociology, 2016) received the Best Published Hebrew Article award from The Israeli Political Science Association. Recently, I have collaborated with academics and activists to study poverty and activism. Our co-authored article (Journal of Poverty and Social Justice, 2022) was awarded second prize for best published article by the Israeli Sociological Association. In 2022, I was honored as the inaugural recipient of the distinguished award for civic and community engagement from The Israeli Political Science Association. My current research explores emerging identities and activism among young American Jews.
