Dr. Dor holds a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in zoology, both with honors. In 2008 he completed his doctorate in zoology at Tel Aviv University. Dr. Dor did his postdoctoral research at Cornell, Colorado, and Tel Aviv universities, and was appointed a senior lecturer in the department of zoology at Tel Aviv University. Today, Dr. Dor is a senior lecturer in the Department of Natural and Life Sciences at the Open University.
In his research, Dr. Dor brings together behavioral ecology and evolutionary biology to answer questions concerning the evolution of traits and the role they play in the creation and preservation of biodiversity. His research combines field work and experiments in bird populations with molecular work in the laboratory. In recent years, his research has focused on invasive species, in an attempt to uncover the traits and mechanisms that allow certain species to become successful invasive species.
