34 50 Years of Opportunity at the OUI studies, and techniques for maintaining progress. All OUI study centers are easily available, and the university is a leader in digital accessibility, offering features like practical exam forms, subtitled lectures, real-time transcriptions, braillematerials, and read-aloud digital content. The Eitan Center collaborates with MEITAL and the Israel Accessibility Association, contributing to the development of Israel’s internet standards. Feedback from students highlights that many could not pursue higher education elsewhere and the Eitan Center helps integrate adults with disabilities into academia, assisting them in completing their studies and securing employment, thereby promoting a more inclusive society. Since the beginning of the war in 2023, the Eitan Center has seen a dramatic increase in inquiries, rising from 300 to 4,000. Students affected by the conflict, including those who were at the Nova Festival, wounded soldiers, widowers, students in IDF reserve duty, and others experiencing trauma, have sought special assistance from the Eitan Center. The Center is dedicated to preventing student dropouts and helping them navigate this challenging time. It provides counselling on managing studies and exams, offers emotional therapy through volunteering faculty members, and assists in connecting students with the appropriate military contacts for necessary therapies and support. The Eitan Center also provides personal follow-ups to ensure each student receives the help they need to continue their education.
